Welcome to the temporary home page for Hughes River Custom Baits. Hughes River Custom Baits is now a sole proprietorship owned by Chad Sandy. It was formerly owned by the late Jim Wilson. All rights to the name Hughes River Custom Baits, the logo, branding, templates, models, model names, and any other directly related elements belong to Chad Sandy. The business name “Hughes River Custom Baits” has been registered with the State of Ohio, and a trademark has been applied for.

Stay tuned for Hughes River Version 2, or “HRv2,” handmade wooden baits. The same refined geometry and original weighting will be carried forward in the HRv2 baits. In some cases, elements of the construction may be optimized. The goal is to offer quality and action as good as, or better than, the original legendary wooden baits. I appreciate your interest and patience as I work to preserve this brand. I will not release the baits until I am confident they carry the legacy forward.

Only select models will be offered at first. Over time, and depending on demand, more models may be added. Available wooden bait models, photos, descriptions, and pricing will be listed here as HRv2 baits are released. Hughes River Custom Baits is the parent brand.
